Governor Proclaims MCS Awareness Week, May 8 - 14, 2022

Raising Public Awareness and Education about Multiple Chemical Sensitivity

To raise awareness about Multiple Chemical Sensitivity in Massachusetts His Excellency Governor Charles D. Baker issued a Governor's Proclamation proclaiming the week of May 8th to the 14th, 2022 to be Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Awareness Week.  MCS is a term used to describe a class of health conditions that some individuals develop after exposure to chemicals in the home, at work or in the environment.  Due to the often debilitating nature of the illness and the major financial, employment, housing, health and social consequences for individuals and families expanding knowledge of MCS within the general public is an important first step toward preventing additional injuries.

What can you do to help spread the word about Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Awareness Week and about multiple chemical sensitivity.  Please distribute it among other people in your office, department and other departments (if it applies).  Please send a copy to your local board of health, health professionals, etc.
