Governor Proclaims MCS Awareness Week, May 11 - 17, 2025

Raising Public Awareness and Education about Multiple Chemical Sensitivity
May 11 – 17, 2025
Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Awareness Week.

To raise awareness about Multiple Chemical Sensitivity in Massachusetts Her Excellency Governor Maura T. Healey issued a Governor's Proclamation proclaiming the week of May 11th through the 17th, 2025 to be Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Awareness Week.  MCS is a term used to describe a complex medical condition that some individuals develop after exposure to chemicals in the home, at work or in the environment.  Due to the often debilitating nature of the illness and the major financial, employment, housing, health and social consequences for individuals and families expanding knowledge of MCS within the general public is an important first step toward preventing additional injuries.

What can you do to help spread the word about Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Awareness Week and about multiple chemical sensitivity.  Please distribute it among other people in your office, department and other departments (if it applies).  Please send a copy to your local board of health, health professionals, etc.
